Do you work with metals that need to bonded and/or protected from corrosion? Metals which have been cleaned in an ultrafine manner can be processed much easier, e.g. bonded, sealed, protected. There are many ways in which Openair-Plasma® can support you and help you optimize your processes.

With Openair-Plasma® technology you can pretreat, prepare and protect your product from external influences. As a rule, the first step is to clean the metal surface with Openair-Plasma®, which removes oil or other contaminants, for example. In addition, the oxide layer of the various metals is modified and activated to ensure strong adhesion.

If cleaning alone is not sufficient, the metals can be coated with PlasmaPlus® technology, in which a special nanolayer is applied to the surface to provide new functionalities. One exemplary result is an exceptionally reliable and durable corrosion protection seal against environmental influences such as hot and humid climates, splash water or salt spray.

This free PlasmaTalk by Tim Smith, CTO of Plasmatreat North America, will explain how Openair-Plasma® works and what the plasma does to the substrate, with a focus on metal applications. You will be able to assess how Plasma can optimize your production process and how it can help you produce a durable and safe product.

After attending this PlasmaTalk, you will know more about:

  • How a surface treatment with plasma works
  • Advantages of Openair Plasma® technology
  • Cleaning and removal of fine organic contaminants from metals
  • Changes in oxide layers and activation by Plasma
  • Plasma coatings to protect against corrosion

This no-charge PlasmaTalk is aimed at research, development and quality control personnel as well as designers, process engineers and operators of production equipment in industrial processes.

The PlasmaTalk will last approximately 40-60 minutes plus a question-and-answer session.
If you have a specific question, please send it in advance to academy@plasmatreat.de so that we can incorporate it into the program.
