News: Successful TOUR Transalp for Team Plasmatreat-BOC
Not only the overall winner Stefan Kirchmair, but also the other members of Team Plasmatreat-B.O.C. had joy written all over their faces: The TOUR Transalp with its mountainous and emotional ups and downs had been mastered.
The two-person teams and the amateur world champion Stefan Kirchmair as a single starter completed 7 fantastic stages with more than 800 km and more than 18,000 meters of altitude difference in 7 days. The stage race started on June 19th in Lienz. Teams of the main sponsors Plasmatreat GmbH and B.O.C., a team from Bethel, two ambitious amateur teams from Austria and Stefan Kirchmair in the individual classification started at the TOUR Transalp. Due to the different team constellations, the Team Plasmatreat-B.O.C. was able to cover all classification classes of the TOUR Transalp: Women's, Men's, Mixed and Individual.
The entire team, including coaches and support staff, grew together intensively during these 7 days, and the riders grew beyond themselves. Team manager David Buske was very pleased with his team: "It was impressive to see how our riders got better and better from stage to stage, whether it was our mixed team from the far north or our all-women team with Nicola Hörndl and Britta Erdmann." With Stefan Kirchmair in the individual classification and Michael Oberrauch and Thomas Gschnitzer in the team classification, Team Plasmatreat-B.O.C. had great ambitions for the title. This goal was realized by Stefan Kirchmair, who took the overall victory in the individual classification. For the team Oberrauch/Gschnitzer this was unfortunately not possible due to the health problems of team rider Michael Oberrauch - but true to the motto "what is not, can still come" team boss Buske informed about the participation of the team Plasmatreat-B.O.C. at the TOUR Transalp in 2024. Then again with the dream team Oberrauch/Gschnitzer on title course.
The motto of Team Plasmatreat-B.O.C. is "The Way Home" - an initiative of the Specialized Ambulatory Palliative Care (SAPC) team for children and adolescents at the Bethel Children's Center in Bielefeld. This donation-funded palliative care project was founded in 2004 by the Bethel Children's Hospital with the goal of supporting the counseling and treatment of children and adolescents with a limited life expectancy in their home environment. Team Plasmatreat-B.O.C. has made it its mission to support this unique project by collecting donations before, during and after the sporting highlights (click here for the donation link).
