News: German ambassador visits Plasmatreat Asia Pacific in Singapore
As part of his inaugural visit to the German Centre in Singapore on November 10, 2020, the new German ambassador Dr. Norbert Riedel together with the Deputy Head of Mission (Minister Counsellor) Christoph Hallier and the President of the Singaporean-German Chamber of Industry and Commerce in Singapore Jens Ruebbert, visited Plasmatreat Asia Pacific.
Out of the 140 tenants at the German Center, Plasmatreat Asia Pacific and two other companies were selected to welcome the ambassador for a more in-depth look at their products and solutions. Plasmatreat Asia Pacific is a subsidiary of Plasmatreat GmbH, which is based in Steinhagen, Germany, and is the international market leader in the development and manufacturing of atmospheric plasma technologies and plasma systems for the pre-treatment of surfaces.
Ambassador Riedel was keenly interested in learning about the history of the company and its innovative and environmentally friendly plasma treatment solutions, which have various applications in the fields of automotive technology, electronics, packaging, textiles, medical device technology, transportation, and consumer goods. In connection with his role as ambassador, he was also interested to find out more about the reasons that motivated the decision to open a subsidiary at the German Center in Singapore in 2012.
“The excellent international connectivity, the reliable and trusted legal system and the various regional headquarters located in the city-state were some of the key factors in choosing Singapore as our hub in the Asia-Pacific region. With so many decision-makers from different industries in one place, the conditions are ideal for giving our customers flexible, one-on-one support. With our experienced application experts and service engineers, we are able to efficiently carry out customer-specific application evaluations, repair jobs or commissioning tasks. Supported by our large partner network, we are able to quickly support our customers on-site throughout the Asia-Pacific region,” says Thomas Markert, Managing Director of Plasmatreat Asia Pacific. “During the ambassador’s visit, we also had the opportunity to share our own experiences of the challenges and opportunities of doing business in the Asia-Pacific region, along with the individual market situation in different industries. We were very pleased to be able to welcome the ambassador to our offices.”
A tour of the offices and laboratory together with an Openair-Plasma demonstration completed the visit.
